The two surprised friends don't have enough time to take their weapons, when a beige Land Rover van approaches them. Yehoshua stared and noticed that the vehicle's license plate was in Arabic numerals. A chestnut-white flag is hoisted cheerfully on top of an antenna at the front of the vehicle. Since Yehoshua was late in preparing his weapon, he decides that it is better to go the other way and he goes out towards the vehicle, his hands spread wide in greeting, not knowing who is approaching them.
YEHOSHUA (in Arabic)

He smiles and stops the Land Rover.

Where are you guys from?
LAND ROVER DRIVER
We're from Qatar, we're military attaches, and we're looking for the Syrian army commander to whom we are supposed to be attached.
