RADIO ANNOUNCER (VOICE OVER)
The Voice of Israel from Jerusalem, it's eleven o'clock at night and the news is coming. Heavy battles were fought today and night in the Golan Heights. Many armored forces, including Syrian and Iraqi armored forces attacked our forces. The enemy suffered very heavy losses, but the huge amount of enemy soldiers and their numerical advantage pushed the IDF forces back from their positions. At this time, the IDF is positioning itself in the southern part of the plateau to prevent its displacement from the Golan. Many reserve forces that were sent to the north went up to the northern and central parts of the Golan Heights today and joined the campaign. The Air Force today concentrated on detonatingthe encirclement ring created on its bases by Palestinian commando forces together with special units of the Syrian and Iraqi armies. These forces ensnared many Israeli forces and caused poor air cover for most of the day. Our forces managed to eliminate and paralyze many squads during the day and towards nightfall the Israeli skies were re-opened to the Air Force.
EXT. THIRD NIGHT SHIFT – NIGHT
At this time of the night, Yehoshua and Eli are sitting in the cabin, bleary-eyed, covered with a thin blanket and shivering with cold. None of them manage to sleep even a minute. From two o'clock to four thirty in the morning, a huge convoy of Syrian tanks rumbled in front of them, on the narrow road from which they came yesterday, at a distance of only seven meters from them. At half past three in the morning, a Syrian fighter got out of his jeep and went to pee on the bushes very close to them. In fact, he even wet the truck's bumper without noticing.
