Journey – Page 81

YEHOSHUA

We came to say goodbye to you, David Ben-Gurion. You who established the state with the power of your vision, you who fought and led the Jewish people to victory and resurrection.

We have come to show you what disaster the leaders of our country have brought upon us. Leaders who lost their brakes in fruitless attempts at achieving  peace, leaders who put their trust on the good will of their murderous enemies.

People who should have been free of illusions preferred to believe in the benevolence of the human race in general and of their bitter enemies in particular and did not heed the warnings of their brothers.

ANNOUNCER (VOICE OVER)

Since the start of the Oslo process, the State of Israel has entered such a deep spiral that Israeli politics, which had not excelled before, has become completely sectoral, driven by greed and lust for power. Each sector bites the others to achieve its goals without seeing or even wanting to see the overall goals of the country.

YEHOSHUA

Insignificant individuals came in your place, David Ben-Gurion, insignificant  people, like small ants that gnawed to the end the mighty race that you worked hard to grow.

Dina cries quietly. Raya and Eliran's eyes are dry.
