Citizens of Israel, with sorrow, terror and grief like no other, we are forced to surrender to our enemy the Arabs. Tonight I submitted the surrender request through the US government and we hope that the acts of looting, robbery, rape and murder of Israeli citizens will stop immediately.
We put our hope in God. I ordered the Chief of Staff to disable our weapons. The war has reached our doorstep, all the way to Tel Aviv. Wherever our enemy's murderous tank convoys passed, only destruction, death and bereavement remained.
The citizens of Israel, the government of Israel, the Knesset of Israel and the Israeli army bow their heads before the people of Israel on this terrible day and admit: we have sinned, we have committed a crime against the people. We are guilty of not having our strength against our Arab enemy.
