Journey – Page 102

YEHOSHUA

If we had known all this from the beginning, we might have given up on this sea voyage but now we are well past our point of no return and therefore we will continue with the plan as planned, no matter what. We decided that we would all get on the catamaran in order to get closer to the port of Aqaba, we would do it right after sunset. Me and Eliran will sit on the floats and not on the net between the floats so as not to weigh it down or stretch it too much. Not far from the port of Aqaba, We will go down to the sea. It turns out that Eliran is an almost professional swimmer.

Yehoshua smiles briefly at Eliran and continues.

YEHOSHUA

We will swim to the port of Aqaba and try to enter and steal a small yacht there. If we succeed, we will sail to the sea and meet you later tonight or the next day. Then Raya will also go down to the yacht or anyone who will find it difficult to stay so long on the waves. In the evening we will try to tie up the boats and have a light meal with the little food we have, until morning, when we will say goodbye again and continue our journey to the heart of the Red Sea. Our goal is to reach Eritrea or better, towards Ethiopia. If we happen upon a large ship belonging to the Western countries, we will try to board it, as refugees for all intents and purposes. Our estimate speaks of several days. Therefore, we will already enter a regimen of limited food and water to save the little we have. Eli and his family will wait for us at the Gulf of Eilat, in front of the Aqaba port only until midnight. After that they will start sailing towards the exit from the Straits of Tiran, no matter what the circumstances will be.
