Yehoshua And Eli's consideration of passing through the Triangle settlements stems from the fact that the main campaign is centered around the axes of the Geha road and the coastal road. Another consideration was that many of the fleeing Israeli refugees would block the main roads while many others would refrain from moving on the road connecting the Arab settlements along the Green Line, out of fear of the Arabs.
