he is very nervous because he is being used as a duck at range and can't do anything but get away as fast as possible.
On the way he has to fight a cold frontal wind that blows from the sea and threatens to divert him to the east. Heading back he knew, it would be much harder for him to navigate. Tall buildings await him in anticipation and secretive silence.
He pulls on the strings of his paraglider and the parachute brings him slightly above the height line of the building where he lived. Carefully he lands himself on the few meters of the building's shared roof.
He lands, jogging, and slows himself down with a number of braking steps until he hits the railing on the roof. There the chute pulls him down forcefully over the railing and his elbow hits the wall hard. Yehoshua curses. He continues to pull toward him his parachute that collapsed over the railing of the eighth floor. Only after several exhausting minutes does he manage to pull the parachute towards him, but then he discovers that his shoes are submerged in the pigeon excrement that covers the roof in a thick layer. Yehoshua curses again. When he approaches the roof door leading to the stairwell he discovers that the door is locked. The parachute is gathered in his hands, part of it is dirty with pigeon excrement, and the engine is still weighing on his back. Angrily Yahoshua kicks the door. Finally he pulls out the pistol that he took from Eli, before saying goodbye to him. With two precise shots he cracks the lock. With another kick, he opens the door and enters the stairwell. There he drops the heavy parachute and removes the engine from his shoulders on the relatively clean floor of the stairwell.
Quietly, he goes down to the seventh floor and with trembling hands opens the door of his house.
