Lara – Page 9

TOM

For God's sake! (He points towards the mountains. He then starts singing and dancing with Lara on the limited space of the trolley roof.)

We are going in that direction! This is how I like you! When you laugh…

LARA

Woe, Tom!

INT. EVENING. TROLLEY

Lara is seated in front of the television, her gaze fixed on it. Meanwhile, Tom is positioned on the roof, his legs dangling through the opening into the trolley’s interior space.

INT. DAY.  DREARY TV STUDIO

In the studio sits an android, which is aging and completely bald, dressed in a purple jumpsuit.

ELDERLY ANDROID

The discovery of cloning liberates human knowledge from its constraints, enabling each individual to create a copy of themselves at the own peak moments of their existence. These replicas can relive significant events, moments of happiness, success, and wisdom, providing an opportunity for individuals to learn from past mistakes and continuously strive for success.

Tom descends the ladder, inside.

TOM

Once more this brainwashing?

The old android in the purple jumpsuit continues to speak on the television, but Lara quickly turns down the volume to make it just background noise. Tom sits on one of the chairs and removes his clothing, leaving him naked with a small towel covering his private parts. He waits for Lara to bathe him and notices her gaze lingering slightly longer than usual on the professor's picture.

TOM (sarcastically)

It's time for you to stop worshiping humans. They are not so remarkable.

LARA

I've told you before, we have our God just as you have yours. (Pauses and then speaks with admiration) Professor Shain created us in his image.
