A shiver runs through Lara's body.
LARA (softly, after contemplating)
They won't be "daughters" but "twin sisters."
PEOFESSOR (continuing, disregarding her words)
The only aspect that we haven't resolved through cloning, and still need to address, is hair growth. For some reason, the duplicates, or androids, are born completely bald.
The professor scratches his head.
LARA'S MOTHER (pleadingly)
Think about it, dear. Instead of being alone and depressed, you'll become a mother to so many daughters.
Lara bluntly signals her mother to be quiet. It's evident that she's in shock. Suddenly, she stands up from her chair and swiftly exits the room without saying a word. Lara's mother plans to chase after her, but the professor signals her to stay seated.
PROFESSOR (calmly)
Her reaction is quite normal. It's the expected initial response. In truth, compared to others, she took it well. ( Don't worry. After they process the idea, most of them return with a more positive outlook (clears throat)—at least, the majority.
INT. DAY. KITCHEN
Lara's mother is washing dishes in the well-lit kitchen. Lara sits at the table, finishing her meal. Sunlight streams in through the open windows, casting dancing streaks of light on the faint dust particles in the air. Lara's mother closes the curtain.
LARA'S MOTHER
Be careful with the neighbor's boy. You're spending too much time together. You're not a little child anymore. Before you know it, you might end up pregnant by him.
Lara becomes angry, reacting like any stupid teenage girl.
LARA
Oh, Mom! Stop lecturing me! I know very well what's allowed and what's forbidden!
LARA'S MOTHER
Look at your father, for instance!
