EXT. DAY. IN THE DESERT
Tom and Claudine’s uncle walk in the dry valley between the gray and withered bushes, from trap to trap. In one of them, they find a captured rabbit. Claudine’s son looks satisfied. He opens the trap and holds the frightened rabbit in his hands.
CLAUDINE'S UNCLE
We'll have a good meal tonight. Along with the onions we found.
The man tosses the fluttering rabbit into the basket on Tom's back. He makes sure the basket is securely closed.
TOM (curious)
Did you find anything useful inside the mine?
The man starts walking ahead, with Tom following him.
CLAUDINE'S UNCLE
We are already pursued enough, but we shouldn't add it to our list of demons. We've been there once or twice, but we didn't wander too much Int.
TOM (with growing interest)
Maybe we can find interesting things there.
CLAUDINE'S UNCLE
If you volunteer to explore inside, we have no objection. We struggle a lot with these traps; we don't have enough prey.
INT. NIGHT. AT THE FIRE IN THE ENTERNCE HALL OF THE MINE
Everyone gathers around the fire after the meal. Their gazes dive into the fire. Tom turns to the group.
TOM
I want to go down to the mine tomorrow. Maybe we'll find something useful that can help us.
Claudine’s uncle is not surprised by the request.
CLAUDINE'S UNCLE
We have some ropes we found lying here. You'll need them.
CLAUDINE'S FATHER
We already scanned the cave, but it is always good that there is another pair of eyes.
