Lara – Page 15

Tom sits with curiosity, fixated on the pilot's actions and the view beyond the windows. Positioned behind the pilot, there is a substantial water tank on one side, responsible for supplying water to the settlement's reservoir, with a thick pipe snaking across the floor of the airborne compartment. On the opposite side of the trolley, there are drawers filled with supplies, containing wrapped food packages that Tom is intimately acquainted with. As the trolley glides through the clouds, soaring at a considerable altitude, the windows offer only a vista of dense fog.

TOM

His voice gradually diminishes with a tinge of sorrow. A solemn silence envelops the surroundings.

TOM

These accursed trolleys have remained unchanged ever since.

LARA (MAKING AN EFFORT TO UPLIFT TOM'S SPIRITS)

These enduring trollies have been a constant source of concern for us over the years, delivering water tanks, food, and other goods.

PILOT (REDIRECTING THE CONVERSATION)

What destination are you considering?

TOM

To a settlement located several hundred kilometers away.

The pilot expresses his admiration for their bravery, nodding approvingly.

PILOT

It's quite a journey!

LARA

We will traverse the wilderness and the towering mountains.

PILOT

I've heard tales that beyond the mountains, the desert comes to an end, though none of us has ever ventured that far.

Tom remains silent, lost in contemplation. The pilot endeavors to uplift the spirits of his fellow travelers.
