PROFESSOR SHAIN
It has been 30 years since you have been thawing and freezing me, before and after your holiday. You call me a god, but I am merely human. The process of thawing that brings me back to life is excruciatingly painful. It's like a birthing process. I am fed up with this process that leads me nowhere. I have begged several times in the past ten years to put an end to my life. You have forty-eight clones of me, enough for countless lifetimes. You truly have no need for me. Please release me and let me die.
Professor Shain bends over and weeps, descending from the podium. Lara rushes to support him, ensuring he doesn't fall. Tense silence fills the hall. The young priest quickly ascends to the speaker's podium.
YOUNG PRIEST
We cannot allow this to happen. Professor Shain, you are our god, and as such, we will do everything to preserve you.
Lara escorts Professor Shain out of the hall. The professor continues to cry, while Lara provides comfort. The door through which Professor Shain exits the hall closes behind him and Lara.

THE CLOSING SUBTITLES OF THE MOVIE
EXT. LAST SUNSET. OUTSIDE THE TEMPLE
The scene rises from the temple tower, slowly passing over the snow-capped mountains, piercing through the clouds, reaching the torn net, and slowly floats over the abandoned trolleys, until it stops above the roof of one of the trolleys, where the upper hatch is open, emitting a faint, yellow, flickering light from within. The scene approaches slightly towards the yellowish opening, but suddenly rises upward into the sky, and the yellow light turns into a distant, flashing point of light, as the sky becomes completely dark. Somewhere in the upper right corner of the black screen, the pulsating white dot beats to the rhythm of a heartbeat.
