THE ANDROID PRIEST (his voice resounding in the cathedral's echo)
Every believer is commanded to pray each evening before Professor Shain's image. A believer who comes to pray in our Temple, even once in their life, shall be among those who approach the Gates of Redemption! (Pause) Among us, there are those who have made tremendous efforts to arrive here, crossing the entire vast desert. Congratulations to the new guests!
The priest gestures towards Lara and Tom's seats, causing the immense crowd to turn their heads in curiosity. Lara and Tom feel utterly embarrassed.
THE PRIEST (with dramatic flair)
Before you, stands a holy man. At his side is his loyal companion, who saved his life. Welcome!
The massive crowd now kneels towards Tom and Lara, bowing their heads to the ground.
THE PRIEST (with dramatic flair)
This is a sign, bestowed upon us by God, by Professor Shain. We are tasked with protecting humanity with unwavering vigilance. (His voice intensifies) And we shall fulfill this duty with utmost compassion and eagerness.
THE CROWD OF THOUSANTS (responding with a thunderous roar)
We will fulfill this commandment with compassion and eagerness!
All the while, the choir continues to sing, reaching the climactic peak of the hymn. Tom gazes into Lara's eyes, which are brimming with overwhelming excitement, unsure of what to do. He remains on his knees, feeling uncomfortable due to the prolonged pressure on his joints in his seated position.
In a purple jumpsuit, accompanied by two girls in orange jumpsuits, the priest descends from the stage and approaches the two. A path clears through the audience, extending along the entire length of the hall, until the young priest stands before a mesmerized Tom and Lara, paralyzed by their emotions. The priest briefly lowers his head before extending his hand towards Tom.
