Prophet – Page 42

Two guards in the mall stand helplessly near the crowd, holding metal detectors, as they ignore their security duties to listen to Yoram.

ITAI HERSHKOVITZ

His words are filled with reproach and anger, as he predicts a dark future for all of us, reminiscent of the prophets of old. He warns of a terrible war that is expected to unfold within a few years. Yoram believes that nothing is set in stone, and God is willing to forgive if only the citizens and leaders open their hearts and follow his guidance.

A short, portly manager, accompanied by two ladies, emerges from the mall's entrance. He berates the guards with sharp hand movements and sends them back to their posts. Then he confronts the prophet, shouting at him and ordering him to leave the mall premises. The two ladies stand on either side of the manager, displaying an aura of strength and authority.

And here's the surprising part: Yoram Nachman has never been religious, nor did he receive any religious education. He is strictly secular.

As the defeated prophet departs, disappointment fills the hearts of the gathered crowd.

In the studio, a news anchor sits with a cynical expression. Beside her is Hershkovitz, wearing a smug smile.
