Prophet – Page 13

Iris, like every realistic woman, is far from relaxed. On the contrary, she becomes even more nervous.

IRIS

This story that happened to you today with… the 'alien'? It doesn't make me laugh at all, Yoram!

YORAM (with a dismissive tone, typical of know-it-all men)

Don't worry, it's probably just some hallucination I had.

Iris notices the coffee shop receipt lying on the counter in front of her. Swiftly grabbing it, she reads the contents. Realizing it's a receipt from the coffee shop, she waves it at him in protest, clenching the wrinkled paper in her fist.

IRIS

Don't talk to me about hallucinations, Yoram. You have a receipt here, and it says you paid for two cups of coffee, not one.

Yoram opens the shower door and reaches out to her.

YORAM (laughs)

Oh, Iris, Roswell isn't here. It's in New Mexico. Now, come.

But Iris recoils from his outstretched hand, looking at him in disbelief. Yoram steps out of the shower, completely soaked with the water still flowing, and tries to catch her, but she swiftly escapes from the tub. The bathroom door slams shut.
