At the junction he pauses for a few seconds and then turns right onto the narrow asphalt road from which Lydia’s car came. He drives for about twenty minutes until the road merges with the patrol path of the border between Israel and Egypt. He retraces his steps, this time driving slowly and checking the edges of the road. A few kilometers away he finds a path made by car wheels, a limestone path leading to a group of mountains further on, next to a dry Wadi. Akiva stops his car, gets out of the car and checks the road signs. It seems that many cars have taken over this limestone path. In a moment’s decision, he gets back in his car, gets off the road, and drives along the kurkar path. After about fifteen minutes of driving, he finds himself entering the institute’s parking lot. A flat mountain on which the institute and two cars are parked. He parks next to the large van and gets out of his car.
INT. IN THE INSTITUTE’S LABORATORY – MORNING.
Uri and Kfir are sitting at the tables used to detect holograms and checking glasses.
INT. AT THE SECRETARY’S DESK – MORNING
Lydia is fiddling with some paperwork. Suddenly she hears a warning chirp.
This is one of the precautions added to the institute after the raid and destruction by the Bedouins. She presses a switch and a screen divided into four parts is revealed.
The screen shows a photo of the institute’s entrance and entrance hall, the parking lot outside, the door to the warehouses behind the elevators, and the wide corridor on the top floor of the institute. Akiva, this time in black pants and a white shirt with his tassels sticking out from under his shirt, appears in the parking lot, getting out of his old, battered Renault Clio. Lydia follows Akiva’s bearded figure out of the car and heads for the entrance to the laboratory where Uri and Kfir are.
