Behind the building, he passes by large water containers and two thick pipes bringing water from the elevated pool. Gimmel-Bet, currently on her shift, stands and watches him silently. He continues to move into the absolute darkness and disappears from sight.
EXT. IN THE DARKNESS OUTSIDE – NIGHT
Reish-Alef leans on one of the crutches. The second crutch serves as his aid in detecting obstacles on the path and hidden pits in the absolute darkness. His advance is slow and painstaking.
Reish-Alef's crunch encounters a rock about half a meter high. He looks around and sees, from a distance, the flickering lights from the community's agricultural fields. He sighs and sits on the rock, facing towards the distant sources of light that were flickering in the distance. All the while, the rain keeps falling, small but persistent droplets. His wide-brimmed hat and raincoat protect him from getting soaked. The sound of the rain intensifies, and now large drops pound on his hat and raincoat. The wind also intensifies and he starts crying, a deep and terrifying cry.
FADE OUT
After a long time, his tears dry up. He sighs and rises from his place, taking his crutches and starts walking again, away from the settlement, away from his community. After a grueling few hours of walking, he reaches what appears to be a small depression in the ground. The lights from the community's vegetable fields have long disappeared. He sits in the depression, partially sheltered from the wind and the relentless rain. He takes out the remnants of his food and eats slowly. Then he places his backpack like a pillow on his head, covering his face with the wide-brimmed hat, and thus, he drifts off to sleep for an unknown period.
