IN THE COMMUNITY MEETING HALL – NIGHT
About two hundred community members from various settlements are seated as Reish-Alef arrives, walking with his crutches. He carefully climbs the three steps to the stage, using his crutches, and takes a seat on one of the empty chairs on the stage. Two dim lamps provide a faint light in the hall. Shin-Bet arrives after him and goes up on the stage. He quiets the audience.
SHIN-BET
Hello to all of you, members of the community. Today, we are holding a meeting regarding Reish-Alef. A respected member of our community who, due to fate, suffered a brain event. For nearly two months, Reish-Alef has been trying to recover from the terrible incident he experienced.
He's back on his feet, but as you can all see, walking is a challenge, and he relies on crutches. Tzadik-Vav, his physiotherapist, suggests that it's highly probable he won't regain his previous walking abilities, and his current walking capability is expected to be permanent. We emphasize that his mental faculties were not affected at all, and his speech is back to what it was. There's no doubt that he can continue his office work –
Someone quickly climbs the stage and whispers into Shin-Bet's ear. He quickly descends from the stage, leaving Shin-Bet and Reish-Alef alone.
SHIN-BET (CONTINUES HESITANTLY)
But I have been informed that his office work has already been taken over by someone else.
Shin-Beit clears his throat and continues his speech. His voice is once again authoritative and energetic.
