The two scooters, one for two passengers and the other for four passengers, are connected to electrical cables for charging. Light clouds of whitish dust rise from their boots as they approach the vehicles.
She removes the electrical cable that charges the small scooter and puts it aside. She sits in the driver’s seat. Uri is still standing next to the vehicle.
LYDIA
Come on up. Be thankful there’s a scooter. The first ones to enter the mountain walked all the way.
Uri circles the front of the car and hurries to sit next to Lydia. When he gets in and sits down, Lydia starts driving without waiting for Uri who is trying to fasten his seat belt. Lydia tells him.
LYDIA
We don’t use seat belts. even so, the scooter is traveling at a snail’s pace…
They disappear into the darkness; a cloud of blue sparks appears where they left from. A cloud of dim orange dust is visible where they passed, but soon darkness returns and takes over the mountain. Lydia rides with Uri, the scooter’s lights barely illuminating the road a few meters ahead. The thick electric cable that leads one machine to the next in line is illuminated in a pale light by the scooter’s lights.
