EXT. HOSPITAL ROOM – DAY
Reish-Alef wakes up in his bed and sits up with effort. Just a few meters away, Gimmel-Bet, his girlfriend, lies. She's covered in bruises.
REISH-ALEF
Gimmel-Bet, it's me, Reish-Alef. What happened to you?
Gimmel-Bet turns on the bed to hear his voice. She speaks weakly.
GIMMEL-BET
Someone from the community assaulted me during my shift.
REISH-ALEF
I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect you.
GIMMEL-BET
Don't be such a hero. You're sick now yourself.
Reish-Alef attempts to rise from the bed and move toward her bedside, but his legs unexpectedly give way, causing him to collapse onto the floor with his knee absorbing the majority of the impact.
GIMMEL-BET
Nurse?! Nurse?!
Hearing the screams, the hospital nurse enters the room. In one glance, she assesses what happened. She bends down and tries to lift Reish-Alef.
