Pedal! – Page 8

Billions perished. Certain communities that were in proximity to nuclear reactors managed to survive for a few more months, but they too waned without the structure of society to care for humanity.

EXT. PEDALING FACILITY – DAY

Heavy rain pours down on the riders in the darkness. The loud sound of rain can be heard in the courtyard of the pedaling facility. The two dim bulbs outside cast their pale light onto the falling rain, illuminating the wet heads and shoulders of the riders down to their soaked bones.

ANNOUNCER (VOICE OVER)

Through tremendous effort, the community of a few hundred people managed to build a large pedaling facility, allowing up to a hundred riders to generate temporary electricity. With no engines or batteries available to harness energy, the community had no choice but to depend entirely on the strength of their legs, engaging in continuous and essential pedaling, in order to generate electricity and maintain their livelihoods.

Through this modest energy source, the community manages to provide itself with light and energy, enabling agriculture and the raising of livestock that supply food for the community's survival.
