A DESERTED ROAD IN THE DIRECTION OF KIBBUTZ BE'ERI – DAY<\/span><\/span><\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n While the small convoy is driving on the deserted road from the Saad junction towards Kibbutz Be'eri and Kibbutz Reim, on their way to Tze'elim, a convoy of two jeeps and a trailer carrying huge tanks of the Egyptian army appears in front of them, parked on the side of the road. Yehoshua slows down as he passes them, peeking out of the battered car. On top of the huge trailer, [a statue of Mordechai Anilevich is lying on his back, his face is turned towards the sky, his huge right hand, clutching the grenade. Yehoshua stops the Land Rover shortly behind the Egyptian jeep that is standing on the side of the road at the beginning of the convoy. He gets out of the car, amazed at the sight of the statue from Kibbutz Yad Mordechai, which is a symbol and example of the Jewish partisan war under the Nazi tyranny. When he gets out of his pick-up, Yehoshua checks his Kalashnikov that it is loaded and not secured.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/p>\n\n YEHOSHUA<\/span><\/span><\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n Hello.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/p>\n\n Yehoshua addresses the Egyptian officer in Arabic.
