A CORRIDOR ENDING WITH A THICK, OPAQUE GLASS DOOR<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n Tom and Lara stand behind the manager as she opens the factory door with a long key from her hidden pocket of her pink jumpsuit. Cold vapor bursts out from the door as it opens.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/p>\n\n INT. DAY. A SPACIOUS HALL SURROUNDED BY GLASS-DOOR REFRIGERATORS<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/p>\n\n MANAGER (with pride)<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n This is our manufacturing plant. This is our “storage.”<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/p>\n\n Tom walks past closed glass cabinets, obscured by steam. Through the misty glass, he catches glimpses of old and frozen android faces. Numbered signs with large 12-digit alphanumeric codes are displayed on the cabinets. The manager notices Tom's interest.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/p>\n\n MANAGER<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n These are our "originals." We keep them frozen to prevent aging. We only defrost them when we replicate them. Afterward, we return them.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/p>\n\n TOM (sweating)<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n My goodness!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/p>\n\n MANAGER (explaining)<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n After the war, pollution caused entire regions to become disconnected. Finding new "originals" became problematic, so we preserve them in this dormant state to prolong their lives.
