YECHIEL
I will manage, as I have managed in the past.
Lydia’s rage grows.
LYDIA
If you go there, you’ll have to find a ride with someone else, because I’m not ready for you not listening. are you still sick! (short silence). and if you’re going, then you can tell me goodbye forever and we will not see each other again!
YECHIEL (TRYING TO CALM LYDIA)
Lydia, I see you are very angry, but understand, I gotta get there. I already feel more –
LYDIA (INTERRUPTS)
So get there by yourself!
Lydia angrily leaves the room, throwing the food tray and its remains onto the floor of his hospital room.
EXT. IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM AREA – DAY
Yechiel walks out in his ragged clothes onto the emergency room area, a thick bandage held to his temple by gauze surrounding his head. He turns to the ambulance driver who is sitting there on the side, next to his car.
YECHIEL
I need to get to the Negev, about two hours from here.
The ambulance driver got up toward him.
THE AMBULANCE DRIVER
Isn’t it cheaper for you to take a taxi?
YECHIEL
You’ll write it off as a necessary trip, the health insurance will pay for it.
The ambulance driver looked pleased.
