This is one of my two scripts that are universal. All the rest scripts deal with an alternative or future Israel. Lara was the first script I wrote and it went through many changes over the years.
The story Lara takes place at the end of a terrible civil war, which polluted the earth forever. Humanity developed the androids that will stay on the polluted earth and take care of bringing food and water to people who live above the ground, 3 km in the air, thanks to an invention that cancels the earth's gravity.
Besides the simultaneously wonderful and depressing landscape images that appear in the story, there is a story about the end of humanity, in a time when the status of androids is getting stronger, without procreation but through the reproduction of models of certain carefully selected people.
Android society is a society of classes, similar to Japan during the samurai era. There are black workers, service providers, managers, fighters and supervisors. At the end of their journey, the androids go through a kind of harkiri process in which they say a farewell song to the world, similar to the Japan of the samurai era.
In the script, history is described as it came to be, through the option of duplicating humans at an equal price for every soul and why this caused a devastating world war over the right to use this technology or not.
I know this is a strange wish, but the story is fertile ground for history and civics teachers togather and thinking people, and my hope is that one day Lara will be studied in depth… even in high schools and above.
I will not tell the story itself so as not to detract from the readers' enjoyment, I will only mention that it is a travel story with quite a few twists, in the last days of humanity.
I recommend everyone to read this story, enjoy the surreal landscapes with the amazing ending of the script, and remember that we should always be on our guard…
